MY CHALLENGE
INTRODUCTION
My challenge is to improve my flexibility, I am not able to touch my feet with my hands when I bend myself standing up. I want to decrease this distance.
How am I going to improve it?
- 1 class of yoga online related to flexibility every week, as I am used to do yoga (example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiyDce_yOzc).
- 1 day of different stretching exercises.
How am I going to organize it?
I created a diary to do a follow up of my challenge, there you can find explanations and achievements of every week, pictures and some reflections. At the end, a comparison between the first days and the last ones. And a global reflection with the limitations, emotions and how I feel with the results and my implication.
Moreover, in an excel you can find the distances at the beginning of the first class of the week and at the end of the last one and the different sessions.

DIARY
You can see my diary HERE.
There is an improvement in the distance between the floor and my hands when I bend, although I think that I did more effort in the end when I was bending because the distance has decreased a lot, so I am surprised.
Apart from the numbers which indicate the different measures along the challenge, now, I feel that my body is more flexible, in general.
The effort has been the same in the first and last days. With the experiences and feelings of the first sessions I have been able to establish limits and decide what I like the most to design the next sessions.
GLOBAL REFLECTION
GLOBAL REFLECTION
The challenge, for me, has really been a test for my involvement and I have passed it. I am satisfied as well as amazed with my dedication and effort not to abandon the challenge and dedicating some time every week to accomplish it.
I would like to point out three limitations that I had. First of all, I have a herniated disk in my spine so I have to control my movements and positions a lot (I know I can do yoga because my doctor has recommended it to me to avoid constant pain in the back). Secondly, depending on the week it is difficult to dedicate a specific time to do the challenge (I am used to doing yoga but when it is not possible, it is not a problem), but I didn’t want to give up because flexibility was something that had been on my mind for a long time. Thirdly, some weeks, as it is said in the diary, I felt less motivated.
Regarding my emotions, I explained in almost every session’s part of the diary, how I felt and, overall, it is positive. I set myself the challenge of improving flexibility by decreasing the distance between my hands and my feet, but I have achieved better flexibility in the whole body, something of which I am very very proud.
The results obtained are satisfying and positive, so I am very happy to have established this challenge. Although I have obtained good results, the time I invested in doing the challenge was the time I used to spend doing yoga in general (more varied), so in the end I wanted to finish and go back to my usual classes. With these classes, flexibility is also worked on, so, looking for more positive points, the challenge has not been in vain and I will continue working on it, although not so focused on just that objective.
